what an underrated game. the visuals are great, it's balanced really well, a lot of thinking obviously went into level design.
small side note: the mechanic that you jump higher after landing on an enemy when you run faster feels kinda bad

wow, impressive, must have been a whole bunch of work.
also you catched the vibe of nes games really well.

i think the enemies are to close. for example it's almost impossible to react and dodge the bosses' bullets fast enough, maybe the screen should be bigger, or the sprites smaller..

a good game, but two things i was missing in the controls: 1) jump 2) change direction while performing combos.
